JOSH WARREN
DELAWARE, OHIO -- Ohio Wesleyan University senior Josh Warren (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead) won the highest honor at the third annual Dale J. Bruce Scholar-Athlete Awards Dinner, held on Friday in the Benes Rooms of the Hamilton-Williams Campus Center on the Ohio Wesleyan campus.
Warren, a member of the men's soccer team, received the Presidential Award, recognizing the University's top athlete and person. The top honor awarded by the Ohio Wesleyan athletics department, the Presidential Award is based on athletics ability and achievement, academic excellence, character, leadership, activities and inspiration. Warren, an All-America and 2-time Academic All-America® honoree, was awarded an NCAA Postgraduate scholarship earlier this year. This past fall Josh was named to the 2006 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America® College Division Men's Soccer team. Warren was voted Academic All-America® Team Member of the Year. He was a first-team Academic All-America® selection for the second straight season.
Warren, a starting defender for the Battling Bishops, anchored the defense of an Ohio Wesleyan squad that compiled 15 shutouts on the way to a 15-0-6 record and the North Coast Athletic Conference championship. Ohio Wesleyan made its eighth trip to the NCAA Division III semifinals in Fall 2006.
Josh is the son of Kevin and Trish Warren. Kevin most recently served as Chairman of FWYSSL (now FWUSA) and Trish as Citadel's Treasurer.

Congratulations to both boys for making their age group Spring 2007 State Team in the Indiana Olympic Development Program (ODP). Landon and Dalton play for the Citadel '94 Boys team.
MALLORIE SCHON
January 2007 -- Congratulations to Mallorie Schon, the 2007 Indiana Youth Soccer Young Female Referee of the Year. A junior at Bishop Dwenger High School, Mallorie is 17 years old and has been playing soccer since the age of 7. She is a three year varsity player for Bishop Dwenger, the 2005 & 2006 state champs. Mallorie’s soccer accomplishments include: second team SAC (Summit Athletic Conference) as a freshman, first team SAC as a sophomore and junior, and being named honorable mention on the state team and 1st team district 2. She plays travel soccer with Fort Wayne Citadel. Mallorie also plays varsity basketball and volunteers her free time by coaching youth basketball and working at the St. Anne’s Nursing home. Mallorie has been an active licensed referee for two years. Beginning as a referee on youth level recreation games, she has progressed to being an AR on women’s amateur games. Mallorie enjoys being a referee especially for the younger kids.

2006 ACAC CONFERENCE AWARDS
November 2006 -- The Select League is happy to announce that four of our alumni were selected to the ACAC Conference First Team for 2006. These girls are currently all sophomores and juniors at South Adams High School, and have helped make South Adams a force within the ACAC conference. Congrats to all the girls.
