From Commissioner Bonnie Doty:

I'm retiring from the High School League but taking with me five years of wonderful memories! My involvement with the high school kids has been one of the most rewarding things I've ever done. I can't walk away without saying thanks: to all the loyal and dependable referees, especially assignor Dave Macy; to Dordee at Concordia Seminary; to the entire Select board but John Fyfe in particular, for his stats and scheduling, and Rick Hartman for his support, presence at the fields, and friendship; to all the Northeast Indiana area high school coaches who supported us; especially Luers' Chuck Graham, New Haven's Scott Nguyen, Carroll's Rick Smith, Northrop's Brian Booker, and Bellmont's John Sharpe for embracing the whole concept of this program and spreading the word; to John Clark and Doug Wiedner, such wonderful men and a joy to work with as coaches and as people; to the many fine coaches we've had over the years -- parents, club and school coaches; to the parents who so thoughfully showed their appreciation and made even the coldest, wettest days all worthwhile; and, most of all, to the players themselves. At U19, if you're not on a club team, and it's not high school soccer season, and you were out late Saturday night, and feeling cozy inside while it's 50 degrees and raining hard outside, it's pretty easy to stay in bed or find other things to do. The SHSL kids, however, were out at the fields every single Sunday. All they wanted was to play soccer, so that's what we gave them, a place to play. They are Bona Fide good sports and I wish all of them the success they no doubt deserve. Thank you so much for everything!
