FULL LEAGUE RULES
Fort Worth United families, coaches, and players are encouraged to download and review the 2026 Fort Worth United Soccer Rules document before the season begins. This guide outlines the expectations, procedures, and rules that help keep our league organized, fair, safe, and enjoyable for every team.
League Seasons
FWUSL offers two main playing seasons:
Fall Season: August through no later than November
Spring Season: February through no later than May
Most regular season games are scheduled on Saturdays between 8:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., depending on field availability. If games are canceled due to weather or field closures, make-up games may be scheduled on Sundays or other available days.
Player Registration and Team Placement
Any eligible player may register, even if they are not already part of a team.
Players who are not on a pre-formed team may request to play with a friend. FWUSL will make every effort to honor friend requests, but if that is not possible, the league will try to place players with others from the same school or ZIP code.
Coaches may register fully formed or partially formed teams. If a team has open roster spots, FWUSL may fill those spots with registered players from the same school or ZIP code area.
Players must be properly registered before participating. New players are required to provide proof of age, such as a certified birth certificate or valid government-issued passport.
Age Groups and Playing Up or Down
FWUSL offers divisions from 4U through 11U, with boys and girls divisions when registration numbers allow.
A player’s age group is generally determined by their age as of August 1 of the current soccer year. Players may request to play up one age group with parent approval. Playing up two age groups requires both parent approval and FWUSL approval.
FWUSL also allows a limited “playdown” exception for players born on or after June 1 of the calendar year for the age group they wish to play in. This exception applies only within FWUSL and may not carry over to other leagues or tournaments.
